Meet Our Founder

Jason Weiss

Founder

Jason Weiss is a seasoned CEO, advisor, and entrepreneur with more than 27 years of legal and business experience and a proven track record of building and leading multiple companies.

As the founder and CEO of Symphony Advice, Symphony Life, and Symphony Six, as well as the leader of a private equity group, Jason has built a body of work centered on one guiding principle: a person’s legal, tax, financial, and insurance affairs, along with the relationships that support them, should operate in harmony.

Across every venture, the throughline is the same. Jason builds organizations designed to create lasting value, earning the trust of the people he serves and leads.

Jason’s career began with a strong foundation in law. He graduated with honors and earned the Order of the Coif, a distinction reserved for the top tier of his law school class. He went on to clerk for two appellate courts, where he developed a deep command of judicial reasoning and process. He also worked in the United States Attorney’s Office, further sharpening his skills in public service and advocacy.

From there, Jason moved into the private sector as in-house counsel for a prominent Silicon Valley technology company. He played a pivotal role in guiding the company through its post-IPO stages and subsequent acquisition, gaining a rare, ground-level view of how successful companies scale, transact, and endure. That experience would ultimately help shape his own approach as a founder, advisor, and business leader. Drawing on this foundation, Jason founded Symphony Advice in 2005, a consulting firm serving prominent families, business owners, entrepreneurs, and executives as they navigate the complexities of their legal, tax, financial, and insurance affairs. Under his leadership, Symphony Advice has built a team drawing on decades of combined experience to provide proactive, unbiased planning across business optimization, insurance, cash flow, and succession planning, all in service of preserving legacy and building lasting success.

In 2008, Jason founded Symphony Life, extending that same philosophy into the advanced life insurance space. For nearly two decades, he has led the firm’s work in premium-financed life insurance and sophisticated legacy planning for affluent families. By combining technical insurance expertise with a broader financial-planning lens, Symphony Life helps clients protect, preserve, and transfer wealth across generations.

Alongside his advisory work, Jason leads a private equity group, where his experience building and leading companies translates directly into acquiring and growing businesses. This work gives his consulting and planning practice a valuable operator’s perspective and a firsthand understanding of what it takes to build, scale, and sustain successful organizations.

In 2017, Jason expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio with the founding of Symphony Six, an exclusive, curated network connecting business leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs. Rather than traditional, transactional networking, Symphony Six is built around meaningful conversation, intentional introductions, and authentic relationships. It reflects Jason’s belief that extraordinary potential lies in everyone and that the right relationships can unlock new possibilities for both individuals and the organizations they lead.

Few professionals operate across the breadth of disciplines Jason does: legal consulting, financial planning, advanced life insurance, private equity, and executive networking. What connects these distinct areas is his ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining the objectivity, breadth of knowledge, and trust-based relationships for which he is known. Colleagues and clients alike point to his ability to ask insightful questions, identify opportunities others may overlook, and inspire people and organizations to reach their full potential.

Originally from Northern California, Jason now resides in Franklin, Tennessee, where he continues to lead his companies, mentor rising leaders, and deepen his roots in the community. Outside of his professional pursuits, he remains grounded in what matters most: his family.
